We are pleased to Welcome, Dr. Alicia Spalding, a Naturopathic Physician.
Dr. Alicia Spalding specializes in Botanical Medicine, Health and Wellness, Hydrotherapy and Bodywork!
Her Mission Statement:
My mission as your Naturopath is to guide you to your inner abilities to be happy,
loving spirits and enjoy a life of health and happiness.
I believe we all have inside us what we need to be happy, healthy, loving spirits
and sometimes need gentle guidance and reminders on how to bring our goodness to fruition.
I believe health and wellness are a right for everyone, not a privilege for some.
I also believe we must take active roles as individuals in our health and incorporate
healthy behaviors into all aspects of life to find peace, happiness and balance.
We are all on our own individual health journeys and what we need at any given moment can change.
I want to help people learn what signs and symptoms may mean for them so they can be their own health advocate.
Naturopathic medicine is more than another field of study; it is a philosophy of life. Emphasis is placed on disease prevention and treating the whole person: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Naturopathic doctors encourage and educate individuals to take an active role in their health.
IN WASHINGTON STATE, NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS (ND’S) ARE LICENSED AS PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PHYSICIANS AND PROVIDE SPECIALIZED CARE FOCUSING ON BOTH CONVENTIONAL DIAGNOSTICS AND STANDARDS OF CARE, THE EMPHASIS HOWEVER BEGINS BY USING TRADITIONAL METHODS OF HEALING. SIMILAR TO MEDICAL DOCTORS, NATUROPATHIC PHYSICIANS MUST ATTEND FOUR YEAR (OR EXTENDED FIVE YEAR) MEDICAL SCHOOL PROGRAM AS WELL AS TAKING TWO COMPREHENSIVE PROFESSIONAL BOARD EXAMS PRIOR TO LICENSURE BY A STATE OR JURISDICTION. NOT ONLY ARE WE LICENSED IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON TO USE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS FOR HEALTH BUT ALSO STUDIED EXTENSIVE HOLISTIC APPROACHES TO THERAPY. THERE IS A STRONG EMPHASIS ON DISEASE PREVENTION AND PROMOTING WELLNESS. THE PRINCIPLES OF NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE GUIDE PRACTITIONERS IN OUR PHILOSOPHY OF PERSON-CENTERED CARE AND FINDING THE ROOT CAUSE OF ILLNESS. THIS IS PART OF WHAT DISTINGUISHES THE NATUROPATHIC APPROACH FROM CONVENTIONAL MEDICINE.
